Trudeau knew of a ‘breakthrough’ before invoking the Emergencies Act

The Trudeau government know with less than a day before invoking the Emergencies Act there was a potential breakthrough with the use of current laws and the age old tactic of discussions also known as good communication skills.

Meeting minutes recently released about the exchange revealed Trudeau was told by National Security and Intelligence Advisor Jody Thomas “that law enforcement gains have been important and that there was potential for a breakthrough in Ottawa.”

On Saturday, February 12, 2022 Jim Watson reached out to Tamara Lich with a letter to resolve the disruption from the freedom convoy in the residential areas of the city.

“I don’t believe these harmful effects on our community and its residents were the intended consequences of your protest” Wrote Jim Watson to Tamara Lich

“That’s why I am writing to ask you remove your convoy and its trucks from all of our residential neighbourhoods and that you restrict your presence to a limited perimeter from Willington Street where it meets Elgin Street and to the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway”

I ask that you immediately seek the support of the truckers to follow this path of de-escalation. I would offer to meet with you to discuss your protesters concerns, as long as you respect the following conditions

Tamara Lich responded to Mayor Watsons letter saying the truckers “have always been about peaceful protest.” She wrote: “We have made a plan to consolidate our protest efforts around Parliament Hill. We will be working hard over the next 24 hours to get buy-in from the truckers. We hope to start repositioning our trucks on Monday.” which would land on February 14, 2022.

Lawyer Keith Wilson, who represents Lich on her non-criminal cases posted the letters on social media

from Lich and other convoy organizers

“We need to reposition our trucks so we don’t give the Prime Minister the excuse he desperately wants to use force and seize our trucks,” the memo says.

“The truckers on the Freedom Convoy 2022 board plan to start repositioning our trucks forward on Monday to consolidate our protest in front of Parliament. There is also room for trucks to relocated to 88”

In an interview with CBC, the City of Ottawa’s negotiator to the freedom Convoy said ‘History will show this was a total overreaction,’

“This is a black mark on Canadian history,” Dean French said of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act on Feb. 14, just a day after word of an agreement between the city and truckers became public.

“History will show this was a total overreaction.”

Trudeau knew the border blockades were already resolved and lifted and Thomas said the threat of extremism remained “stable and unchanged” while FINTRAC also confirmed the Freedom Convoy posed no violent extremist threat. Therefore giving no justification for the use of the Emergencies Act.

The invoking of the Emergencies Act on Monday, February 14, 2022, lead to the police quashing a peaceful protest clubbing and pepper spraying Canadians and independent journalists while freezing bank accounts of anyone involved in political dissidents and a elderly indigenous grandma be being trampled by police horses.

Marco Medicino claimed for months on public tv, in the house of commons and at the special committee meetings of the Declaration of the Emergencies they acted on the advice of law enforcement.

The reality shows there isn’t one senior law enforcement official willing to stamp their name on this claim. RCMP and Ottawa Police did not ask for the Trudeau government to invoke Emergencies Act.

Pierre Poilievre called on Marco Mendicino to resign over lying to Canadians.

Two of the federal Conservative leadership candidates slammed the Trudeau liberals for their unjustified use of the Emergencies Act as the news of the breakthrough broke came out to the public.

Conservative MP Leslyn Lewis took to social media to call out Trudeau saying the “last resort” position to invoke the Emergencies Act was not met.

“The Liberals said they acted on the the advice of law enforcement. We know that wasn’t true. Justin Trudeau called the Emergencies Act a “last resort”, but now we learn he was told by security advisors that they were close to a breakthrough the day before he implemented the act.”

“It was never about safety.” Pierre said, adding Trudeau was overreacting and wanting to play Mr. Tough guy to try to make an example of Canadians that question the government and demand the government to do what it is supposed to and be accountable to the people.

“That’s why Liberals lied about police asking for the Emergencies Act. Now we know security advisors saw potential for a “breakthrough” with peaceful protesters. Trudeau only wanted to punish protesters for making him look bad.”
