Thousands gather at B.C. Legislature in Truckers for Freedom support rally

People descend on to B.C. legislator in a crowd that drew thousands not to mention the multiple other crowds in Langley and Chilliwack and multiple other cities across the province. They are all calling for an end to pandemic mandates that make no sense. There are a lot of mandates that have no justification and that what the concern Canadians want to speak about.

We Unify Canada is one of the co-organizers of the event according to their website. Keven Brett, one of the event organizers that attended the event said they wanted to have a dialogue with the government around whether public health mandates are needed or effective because it is currently not happening.

Brian Pekford is former premier of Newfoundland and Labrador and a signatory to the 1982 Constitution and Charter of Rights and Freedoms was one of the events main speekers.

“I’m a part of this event because the governments of Canada, all 14 of them, are violating the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which I helped write,” said Peckford. “What’s happening today in Canada is all the governments are breaking the constitution, taking rights and freedoms away from Canadians which they have no right to do.”

Peckford said there are provisions for governments to override the charter and constitution, but “only in a dire situation like a war or an insurrection.” He said in his view the pandemic “doesn’t meet that requirement.”

Peckford featured in a interview earlier last week on the Andrew Lawton show and gave a lot of insight in to the Charter. It’s definitely worth checking out.

During the interview Pekford tells Andrew Lawton the breakdown how the Charter was written and which sections supersede which and the requirement of the Government to show proof, transparency. The government is accountable to the people, not the people accountable to the government.
