Muslims against gender ideology in schools are being misled by the ‘American right wing’ spreading ‘misinformation and disinformation’ says Trudeau

In a now viral video posted to social media on Wednesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed Muslim parents opposed to LGBTQ ideology being taught to their children in school are victims of an ‘American right wing’ and ‘far right’ campaign spreading ‘misinformation and disinformation.’

Trudeau says he knows Muslims and other individuals of religious faiths object to the gender ideology being pushed in schools “I’ve heard this concern many, many times and I know that it is a very real issue,” Trudeau said in the eight minute exchange recorded on video and posted to Twitter.

Prime minister Justin Trudeau brushed off concerns simply labelling them as fears based on “misinformation and disinformation” and the work of the “American right-wing.”

“First of all, there is an awful lot of misinformation and disinformation out there. People on social media, particularly fuelled by the American right-wing, are spreading a lot of untruths about what’s actually in the provincial curriculums.

“Now if you look at the various curriculums, you’ll see that there is not what is being said out there about aggressive teaching or conversion of kids to being LGBT. That is something that is being weaponized by people who are not doing it because of their interest in supporting the Muslim community,” Trudeau said.

Trudeau also said that the “Christian right” is also strongly opposed to gender ideology in the schools.

“These are people on the far right who have consistently stood against Muslim rights and the Muslim community, but they are weaponizing the issue of LGBT, which is something that, yes, Islam has strong opinions on, the same way that the religious right in Canada, the Christian right, has strong opinions against as well.

Trudeau is clearly sensing his “Liberal” government is losing the support of the Muslim community and he took an opportunity to shoehorn in an accusation of “Islamphobia pushed by the previous [Steven Harper] Conservative government in a whole bunch of different ways.”

It’s “like the world is going in the wrong direction. One thing we don’t need right now is for communities that are facing hatred [to] just start turning on each other.” Trudeau told the parent saying it causes “clashes of cultures.”

Members of the Muslim, Christian and Jewish community gathered together in Mississauga in a demonstration to reject Justin Trudeau suggestion they are “brainwashed” in regards to gender ideology being taught to children in schools.
