Trudeau finally admits his gun grab targets hunters

Was Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Ministers lying or were they spreading what Trudeau calls “misinformation and disinformation”?

This whole time Trudeau and his ministers have been telling Canadians they are not trying to steal legal guns from licensed and RCMP vetted hunters.

Recently in an interview on CTV News, Justin Trudeau said that he is indeed targeting hunters and some firearms will be taken “away from people who were using them to hunt.”

“We said it from the beginning. They called us liars and spreaders of disinformation.” said Tracey Wilson a spokesperson for Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights (CCFR). adding “Now they admit we were right. It’s a #HuntingGunBan”

If Bill C-21 were to become law, it would expand upon the government’s 2020 ban of 1,500 so-called “assault-style firearms” by also banning a large number of rifles and shotguns, including those that are used by hunters.

On December 13, during Question Period, Trudeau stated that his government would continue to “consult” with Canadians over the suggested list of firearms to be banned.

He declared, “We are not interested in going after guns that are typically used for hunting and protecting farms,”

Trudeau claimed any opposition to his gun ban was “disinformation” and accused the Conservative Party of Canada of “fear mongering”.

Following the Public Safety Committee of the House of Commons’ review of C-21, at the last moment Liberal MPs sneakily shoehorned in an amendment to ban hundreds more semi-automatic shotgun and rifle models apparently without researching what was being added.

NDP MP Alistair MacGregor criticised the government for presenting the amendment at such a late stage in the legislative process during the committee’s last meeting before Parliament adjourned for Christmas break. He said that the government is asking opposition MPs to perform a “tremendous amount of extra work” — work that should have been done by the government.

“The way this amendment landed has frankly been a complete and total abuse of process,” he said.

Wilson added that the amendment was put forth by the government at the “11th hour.” She said there had been no discussion, witness testimony, or engagement with law enforcement, hunters, native Americans, isolated villages, or northern communities.

“This should concern all Canadians, along with their complete failure to address crime, violence and gun smuggling,” she said. “Another tragically failed Liberal policy.”

The committee will continue debating a resolution on whether to hear from witnesses about how they will be affected by the proposal when Parliament reconvenes in six weeks.
