Man identifying as a women spies on little girl in change room of Nanaimo Aquatic Centre

A mother was in the change room with her young child when she noticed what appeard to be a man in drag standing there with no bag, towel or swimwear.

Janayh Wright said the unknow person walked around looking in the shower area before he child went into a change stall.

The man in a wig with a face mask on entered the stalled beside her nine-year-old daughter. Wright said she visually saw the wig hang below the stall

“I could see their feet moving, so you could see the bottom of the stall, then I saw the wig peer down and they were trying to peek underneath the stall,” said Wright told Chek News.

“When the individual came out of the room still fully clothed I then approached them. They told me it was in their human rights to be in the changeroom and that they weren’t going to leave. There were a few words exchanged and I ushered them out the door.”

When Wright told the manager of the facility, they agreed it’s unacceptable behavior but said it’s that mans “human rights” to pretend to be a woman and access the women’s only areas because so-called “gender identity” is a protected right.

Wright reported the incident to the Nanaimo police, which the RCMP said there’s 2 of these incidents currently under investigation.

Nanaimo Pride Society acknowledged “gender identity” human rights laws could be enabling male sexual predators to enter women’s and girls only spaces.

“We simply can’t know right now whether this alleged offender is trans in the early stages of transition,” the statement reads, or a “man looking for loopholes.”

LGB Alliance of Canada celebrated the mother for standing up for her young childs right to safe spaces.

“We tried to warn policymakers…” the Canadian Women’s Sex-Based Rights wrote in the comments.

“Relax. He was just there to give a drag performance in one of the shower stalls” Journalist Johnathan Kay joked on twitter.

“More transphobia ! Looking forward to @Dave_Eby standing up for this out and proud wig wearing gym enthusiast” referencing another story in January of a man identifying as a woman being devastated men aren’t allowed in the women’s only gym.

BC Rise has reached out to BC NDP MLA Kelli Paddon, Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equity and Premier David Eby for comment, unfortunately they did not respond.

There has been a rise in men claiming to be women and wanting access to women’s spaces. Last month the BC NDP proudly posted their support to erode sex based rights when Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equity and BC NDP MLA Kelli Paddon claimed “Trans women are women – period” when a man that identifies as a woman was declined access to a women’s only gym.

According to the BC Human Rights tribunal, “Gender identity” is how an individual self identifies themselves which can change any day or time during the day depending on what spaces the individual feels like entering.

“Gender identity is a person’s sense of their gender, including man, woman, transgender or non-binary. For some people, gender identity is fixed. For others, it is fluid.” it says on its website.

Correctional Services Canada Study

Correctional Services Canada conducted studies titled: Examination of Gender Diverse Offenders and another titled: Gender Diverse Offenders with a History of Sexual Offending.

The study revealed of the transgender inmates that were analyzed in a recent study, almost all offenders (82%) with a sex offence history were trans-women.

“Over 80% of gender diverse offenders with sexual offence histories were trans-women. Sexual offending indicators showed that the majority of these offences were committed while living as their biological sex, and that the highest proportion of victims were children or female. In addition, a majority of this sub-group caused death or serious harm to their victim(s).”

“Almost two-thirds (64%) had committed a current sex offence with 88% convicted of prior sex offences. The majority (85%) committed an offence that caused death or serious harm to their victim(s) while 70% inflicted psychological harm on their victim(s). Examination of victimology shows that over half were children (58%) or female (55%). One-third of the offences committed had multiple victims (33%).”
