British Columbia was blasted with a deep freeze starting just before Christmas which resulted in several extreme cold warnings across the province.
Over 40 spots in British Columbia broke records for the coldest daytime high records for Thursday, December 22.

During this time of extreme cold most of Canada was blanketed with snow and many areas in British Columbia experienced freezing rain and ice pellets with flights being cancelled on a massive scale.
