Street robbery: police look for witnesses

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is investigating after a woman reported being robbed downtown earlier this month.

According to the report received by police, the woman was walking to her vehicle just after midnight on Thursday July 7, 2022, which was parked on Victoria Street between 4th and 6th avenues. Along the way, she was allegedly pushed down and assaulted by two men, who robbed her of personal effects. A woman was also present.

The suspects fled on foot toward Lansdowne Street. The victim received non-life threatening injuries.

The men are described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • Average build
  • Approximately 5’9
  • Dark hair
  • Wearing baggy jeans and a hoodie

The woman is described as:

  • 5’4
  • Average to thin build

There are a number of businesses in and around that area, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. It is our hope that someone’s video surveillance captured something that will help us identify the suspects.
