Police investigation into armed home invasion

Williams Lake – On Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 3:33 am guests at a motel in Williams Lake were suddenly awaken when 2 men tried to break in to one of the motel rooms. The police received multiple reports about the disturbance at the motel located on 7th Avenue in the city.

When the police arrived quickly arrived on scene where they checked every room, and spoke to guests. However the men had already fled. It was first reported there was a fire arm used with shots fire which was was unfound.

However evidence that a firearm may have been involved was located at the scene.

Police have identified people they believe to be responsible. While a motive is not yet clear, the occupants of the unit and the suspects are well known to the police, said S/Sgt. Del Byron Operations NCO, Williams Lake RCMP.
