Early morning assault investigation leads to arrests. Firearms found on scene

Williams Lake RCMP were dispatched to a residence in the 700 Block of Pigeon Ave for an assault in progress on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 2:51 a.m. An adult woman claimed she had been injured during an assaulted by another woman.

Police immediately responded and a suspect was located outside the residence, attempting to hide from police. She was arrested without incident and later released for a court date in April 2022.

During the on scene investigation, police located two loaded shotguns and a pistol that appears to be a BB handgun. Another person in the residence, an adult man, was attempting to conceal these firearms and was subsequently arrested for numerous firearm related offences. The man was held in custody for a court appearance today.

“All three individuals are known to police and have ties to local gangs in the city”, said S/Sgt Del Byron, Operations NCO Williams Lake RCMP.
