Police investigate kidnapping and assault, two suspects in custody

Two suspects in custody following a kidnapping and assault that was reported to police.

On January 8, 2023, approximately 7:30 a.m a man suffering from multiple injuries contacted police alleging he was kidnapped and assaulted by two other men, according to Prince George RCMP.

When officers arrived at the scene on the 400-block of Ottawa Street to investigate they attended a “temporary structure” where the victim stated the assault took place. Police found two men inside that matched the description of the suspects. Investigators arrested 20-year-old Noah Damien Basil-Tom and 25-year-old Daryn James Middleton in relation to the incident.

Both suspects have been through the justice system before. The men attended court for this incident and will remain in custody until their next court appearance.

The file remains under investigation.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges:

Noah Damien Basil-Tom

  • Aggravated assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Forcible confinement
  • Fail to comply with probation

According to a search on the bc justice website Noah Damien Basil-Tom has a Criminal history daiting back to 2021 with charges that included 6 Assault, Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer and Breach of Probation Order

Daryn James Middleton

  • Aggravated assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Forcible confinement
  • Fail to comply with probation

According to a search on the bc justice website Daryn James Middleton has a Criminal history dating back to 2019. Past charges such as break and enter with intent to commit offence. Possession of stolen property, theft under $5,000. Possess break-in instrument. Breach of release order, motor vehicle theft and wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer
