Merritt RCMP arrest four people for BB gun assault

The Merritt RCMP arrested four suspects on Monday after a BB gun assault put a man in hospital.

On May 9, 2022, Merritt RCMP Front Line Officers responded to the Nicola Valley Hospital for a report of a man who had sustained non life threatening injuries after being shot in the arms, body and face with a BB gun. It is alleged the man had been at a residence in the 2700 block of Clapperton Avenue when he was held down and shot multiple times by some of the occupants.

“Four suspects were taken into custody and a search warrant was executed by our General Investigation Section where it is alleged the assault occurred”, says Cst. Jon Puterbough. “The incident is believed to be targeted as the victim and suspects were known to each other.”
