On Saturday, July 9, 2022, just before 10:00 p.m., Frontline police officers from the Prince George RCMP responded to a weapons complaint outside a residence on the 1900 block of Central Street East. Witnesses stated they saw two men in an argument and that one man pointed what appeared to be a gun at the other, before leaving the area on foot.

Police began patrols in the area and located the suspect a few blocks away on 20 Avenue and Massey Drive. Investigators arrested the man and located a firearm in his back pack. He was subsequently arrested and held for court.

The man, identified as 25-year-old, Prince George resident Michael Campbell-Alexander, is known to police for similar offenses. He will remain in custody until his next court date.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges in this matter:

  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence

  • Possession of a firearm knowing the serial number is tampered with
  • Possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to order

  • Possession of ammunition for the purpose of committing an offence

At the time of his arrest, Michael Campbell-Alexander was bound by a court order not to be in possession of a firearm. Thankfully, no one was injured in this incident.
