Police are investigating a armed robbery at a convenience store in Kelowna.
On April 30, Saturday morning at around 00:15 a.m police received a report of a robbery with a weapon at a convenience store in the 2000 block of Springfield Road in which the store employee and customer were both assaulted.
Police say a male suspect entered the store and deployed bear mace and sprayed the employee and a customer, grabbed a undisclosed amount of store merchandise and fled the area on foot.
Both the employee and the customer suffered minor injuries in the assault and were treated at scene by Emergency Health Services.
Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian male, slim build, approximately 6 ft. 2 inches tall, with short brown hair wearing a black baseball cap, a light grey plaid button up shirt, jeans, black shoes and carrying a black duffle bag.
Investigators stayed on scene throughout the early morning to gather evidence and look for more video surveillance of the area to help with the investigation.
RCMP is requesting anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect to contact them with the details.
