Vehicle plows down 4 freedom protesters in Winnipeg

Social media lit up circulating video of a unidentified individual running over freedom protesters in Winnipeg, Manitoba on late friday night at around 9:10 PM CT.

Police held a press conference on Saturday to provide a little more details on the hit-in-run caught on camera. Using a vehicle to purposely run someone over is assult with a deadly weapon with intent to cause bodily harm or death.

Photos and videos show a individual hiding their shame with a mask driving a white jeep through a crowd of peaceful protesters.

The lone male suspect put up a struggle to resist arrest. Police were able to apprehend the suspect so he couldn’t pose anymore danger to the public. Four men were injured during the attack, three recieved medical care on wcese while 1 was talking to hopsital to treat lofe altering injuries.

Police arrested a lone male suspect about an hour after the terrorist attack. The suspect was arrested after a brief struggle.

According to Winnipeg Police Constable Rob Carver, the suspect is being charged with assault with a weapon times four,  dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm times two, dangerous operation of a conveyance, failure to stop after accident knowing that the driver was reckless times two and failing to stop at the scene of an accident times two. 

Police say the hit-and-run is currently under investigation. 

Another Freedom Convoy protest is planned this weekend in Winnipeg.

To stand in solidarity there is planned demonstrations being held in Ottawa, Toronto, Victoria and multiple of cities across the country.

Prior reports by Winnipeg Police Chief Danny Smyth described the protests as cooperative and peaceful.

Law enforcement has reduced traffic on Broadway to one lane where the attack took place.
