A climate alarmist group calling itself “Stop Fracking Around” staged a demonstration in Vancouver on Wednesday August 10, 2022.
The anti-fracking group’s goal is to have the government cancel the Coastal GasLink Pipeline project while banning the production, transport, and sale of fracked and natural gas in Canada.
One of the activists, Sophia Papp, climbed up a 14 foot ladder to pour molasses on the historic Steam Clock out of a plastic, oil based jerrycan while another addresses random people walking and driving by with a oil based plastic megaphone saying “sweet smelling” pause “Symbolizes oil and gas”
The activist that poured the molasses on the steam clock then took to the same oil based plastic megaphone to say the sky is falling “the time is now. But we need to change now.” she says adding “I believe in human compacity for radical change”.
“Natural gas is a climate killer. It’s primarily composed of methane, a greenhouse gas that is 86 TIMES as powerful at warming the planet as CO2” claims the group.
Among their demands is We demand that no building in Vancouver bans heating of buildings with fracked gas by 2025.
Stop Fracking Around’s radical idea is to grind economies to halt demanding the immediate ban of production, transport, and sale of fracked and natural gas in Canada.
Vancouver Police Officers showed up on scene and blocked off the steam block while it appeared one activist was arrested as they were lead off in handcuffs.
“Fracked and natural gas” is what Germany and other parts of Europe are hurting for right now in order to keep their economy going and to heat their homes when the winter rolls around or sooner if Russia cuts off their LNG supply to Europe. A majority of northern and rural parts of Canada are heated by natural gas.
