Teen couple faces charges in Labour Day stabbing

Vancouver – A 16-year-old girl and her teenaged boyfriend were arrested by Vancouver Police on Monday morning after a man was stabbed numerous times outside the Murray Hotel in Downtown Vancouver.

VPD officers were called to the Hornby Street SRO around 8 a.m. on September 6, after the 25-year-old victim walked inside with multiple stab wounds. While some officers tended to the victim’s injuries, others set out to locate the suspects, who had fled the crime scene.

“Several eyewitnesses provided important information to VPD officers, which allowed us to quickly locate two suspects near Andy Livingston Park, in the Downtown Eastside,” says Sergeant Steve Addison.

“The suspects were arrested without incident, and the victim was taken to hospital for urgent treatment. Miraculously, despite his horrific injuries, we believe he will survive.”

Investigators believe the victim was known to his attackers, and that the stabbing was targeted.
