RCMP investigating stranger sex assault

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Prince George RCMP began investigating a report of a stranger sexual assault that occurred near 3 Avenue and Scotia Street. The 15-year-old victim reported getting a ride from a man, who began making sexual advances before dropping her off at the above location. Police located the 58-year-old suspect later that morning and arrested him for sexual assault.

We commend the young victim for having the courage to come forward to police. If there are other victims that have experienced a similar situation, we encourage them to report it to Prince George RCMP by calling the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The suspect was released back the community on an Undertaking with a future court date.

The file remains under investigation.
