Prince George RCMP seize loaded firearm and suspected illicit drugs during search

On April 1, 2022, Prince George RCMP’s Downtown Safety Unit, with the assistance of the Street Crew Unit and Frontline officers, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act warrant at a residence on the 1900-block of Upland Street.

Inside the house, Downtown Safety Unit officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as various types of prescription pills. Police seized a loaded firearm, various weapons, as well as items related to drug trafficking and over $2000 in cash. Investigators arrested one man in the residence, who was released pending results of the full investigation.

While conducting their investigation into suspected drug trafficking, Downtown Safety Unit recognized that the majority of people visiting the home were people occupying the downtown core. This residence was likely being used to supply illicit drugs to those who live and frequent the area, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
