Shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2022, Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a large stack of tires burning on the 600-block of Third Avenue. When Frontline officers arrived at the location, they saw the burning tires were starting to catch the power lines in the area on fire. Police reviewed video surveillance from the area and noted a suspect with distinct clothing. Police located the man a few blocks away later that same morning and arrested him for arson. The man, identified as 25-year-old Prince George resident, Ulysses Nicholas, was held for court on April 4, 2022. Mr. Nicholas is known to police.
The B.C. Prosecution Service approved one charge of arson against Mr. Nicholas.
The quick and efficient work of our Frontline officers led to this man being arrested and held for court within hours of the fire being lit,
