Police looking for witnesses in weapons investigation

A report involving multiple gunshots heard led to a large police presence in Dallas last night.

Around 10:30 p.m., July 19, 2022, Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 200-block of Andover Crescent in response to the report. There, police located evidence of gunshots fired, but no one who appeared to be injured by them. A number of vehicles and people yelling were noted as moving around in a nearby parking lot at the time of incident and are believed to be associated.

Police are reaching out to anyone who saw anything before or around the time of the reported shots, as well as anyone who has video footage available to please contact police, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. At the time of the incident, a number of vehicles were reported in the area. We are hopeful someone saw something involving those vehicles that may help us further the investigation into what transpired and those who are responsible.

The Kamloops Police Dog Service, Serious Crime, and Forensic Identification Services units are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
