A man died after a police-involved shooting at the Patricia Hotel in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside on Thursday, according to police.

According to a statement, police were called to the Patricia Hotel at East Hastings and Dunlevy Avenue just after 4 p.m. PT for complaints of an attack using a weapon.

According to the statement, a man “confronted” responding officers inside the hotel.

“An altercation ensued and shots were fired,” police stated, but did not elaborate.
