Maple Ridge man in serious condition after gun shot wounds

Maple Ridge has already recorded its first shooting of 2023.

Early in the morning on the second day of the year, January 2, 2023 at approximately 1:30 am police say they received a report that a man was assaulted.

When the RCMP arrived they found a man suffering in serious condition suffering from gun shot wounds.

Maple Ridge B.C – Ridge Meadows RCMP Serious Crime Unit is continuing to investigate a targeted shooting that occurred on Monday. The shooting happened at a residence in the 24600 block of 101 Avenue in Maple Ridge.

The RCMP believe the incident was a targeted shooting and there is no threat to the general public.

The man was transported by BC Emergency Health Services to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
