Kamloops robbery suspected arrested and facing charges

A Kamloops man is facing robbery charges following an early morning arrest in Westsyde today.

On Monday June 13, 2022, at approximately 5:45 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the 3000-block of Westsyde Road, where a man had allegedly entered a store, demanded cash and threatened the clerk, before fleeing on foot.

Officers flooded the area and located a suspect matching the description provided, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. The suspect was quickly captured and taken into custody.

Xavier Sky Kalelest, 25, of Kamloops is charged with one count of robbery. He remains in custody for court.
