Coquitlam RCMP Investigate Stabbing In Port Coquitlam

On June 4th, 2022, just after 1:00 a.m., Coquitlam RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing in the 2200 block of Central Avenue, Port Coquitlam.

The victim was reportedly stabbed by a group of unknown assailants near the park area at the Central Elementary School. The victim was able to escape to a safe location and call 911. Front line officers arrived and located the victim who was transported to the hospital by BC Ambulance.

Coquitlam RCMP investigators are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident. While the investigation is ongoing, investigators confirm this was an isolated incident with one victim being reported to police. “Although the incident occurred on school grounds after hours, there does not appear to be any nexus between any students at the school and the alleged suspects.” states Corporal Paige Kuz, Media Relations Officer with the Coquitlam RCMP.

Police are urging anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time, or that may have CCTV footage in the area, or anyone who has any information regarding this investigation to please call Coquitlam RCMP non-emergency phone number at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2022-13915.
