Charges Laid In Break and Enter and Sexual Assault with a Weapon Case

Surrey RCMP is updating the public that charges have been laid in relation to an alleged Break and Enter and Sexual Assault that occurred May 21, 2022 (Media release 2022-05-21).

On May 26, 2022, 43-year-old, Matthew Christopher Hamm was charged with Sexual Assault with a Weapon, Break and Enter, Unlawful Confinement and Uttering Threats. He remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.

This was a very serious and traumatic incident, that impacted the feeling of safety and security in our community, says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Corporal Vanessa Munn Our investigators were greatly assisted by tips from the public, which ultimately lead officers directly to the suspect, who will now be brought before the courts.
