Woman in custody after robbery attempt using bear spray at Kelowna business

Bear spray used during attempted robbery at local business.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. today, Kelowna RCMP officers responded to a call at a store in the 2500-block of Enterprise Way in Kelowna after a female suspect, attempting to steal power tools from the store, sprayed multiple people with bear spray.

The suspect was detained by staff, one of whom received minor injuries in the altercation. Once on scene, officers arrested the suspect and transported her to cells. Throughout the investigation, officers learned the suspect was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Investigators are seeking to hold her in custody for this incident and for her outstanding warrant.
