VPD arrests second suspect in Crab Park homicide

Vancouver Police have made a second arrest in connection to a fatal assault at a Vancouver waterfront park

On Tuesday Vancouver Police released a statement they have arrested a young man, 18-year-old David Bentil. Bentil is being charged with second degree murder.

He is the second one to be charged in the murder of Andrew Wadden. Eric Kim, 26, was also charged with second-degree murder on May 8.

The charges stem from a reported incident of a man being assaulted by two other men in CRAB Park Saturday morning. Andrew Wadden died from a result of the assault.

When the police arrived on scene they found the 45-year old suffering from lofe threatening injuries. First responders were unsuccessful with their life saving efforts and Wadden died at the scene.

Police said the incident happened 100 metres away from a homeless encampment in the park .

According to Fiona York, an advocate said Wadden was known around the area.

“Andrew and his wife have many friends and extensive family and a wide community here at CRAB Park” reported CTV.
