Surrey RCMP investigate shots fired in South Surrey

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene in the South Surrey area for a report of shots being fired on August 27 at approximately 11 pm

Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 16600 block of 19th avenue. A male suffering from serious injuries was located.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) deployed to a new homicide investigation in South Surrey, B.C,

While still early in the investigation, initial indications are that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between parties known to each other.

Officers conducted a neighborhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is an isolated incident and involves parties known to each other.

Several people were detained by police following the incident, and police are working to determine who may have been involved in the shooting.

IHIT has identified the victim as Troy Michael Regnier, in hopes of furthering their investigation.
