Surrey RCMP investigate shots fired in Newton area

Police are investigating after a shooting in the Surrey Newton area on Thursday night.

After 9pm Surrey RCMP were dispatched to a reporting of shots fired in the 12400 block of 79A Avenue of Surrey.

Police say the investigation is still in the early stages and they are still trying to determine the motive.

Surrey RCMP officers are conducting canvassing in the areas for evidence and speaking with witnesses to gather more information. There have been no reports of any injuries at this time.
