Surrey Police Officer Stabbed During Arrest

On March 9, 2022 at approximately 6:09 p.m., Surrey RCMP and Surrey Police Service members responded to a disturbance in the 12300-block of 99A Avenue.

A report had been received that a woman was yelling, screaming and throwing things around inside a residence.

During the course of the investigation the woman attempted to flee from the police officers. A short foot chase ensued and a Surrey Police Service officer received non-life threatening stab wounds during the arrest.

The Surrey Police Service officer was taken to hospital for medical treatment and is expected to be released to continue their recovery. No one else was injured during the incident.

The woman is currently in police custody.
