Repeat offender caught while stealing vehicle

On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Prince George RCMP Frontline police officers received a report of a vehicle theft, which occurred only moments before the call. The theft occurred in the area of 5th Avenue and Brunswick Street. The victim told police he stepped out of his car briefly and a woman got into the driver’s seat and drove away with his blue Ford Ranger.

Police officers immediately flooded the area and located the vehicle just a few blocks away. Police arrested the driver without incident and identified her as 39-year-old Leslie Marcia Odiorne, who is known to police.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and was checked over by B.C. Ambulance Staff at the location. Police transported Leslie Odiorne to the City detachment until she could appear in court, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved the following charges in this matter:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with release order

Leslie Odiorne will remain in custody until her next court appearance.
