Multiple shootings in Langley, B.C. leaves at least one dead and several injured

Following a string of shootings that occurred Monday morning in different locations and prompted a number of emergency alerts, RCMP officers in Langley, British Columbia, have confirmed several victims.

The RCMP reported that one individual was arrested, but investigators are still trying to determine whether the suspect acted alone.

“We do have a male suspect in custody. However, we are ruling out any other outstanding individuals before we stand the emergency alert down,” said Langley RCMP Sgt. Rebecca Parslow.

While Parslow said there was several victims there was no number given for reference, the victims have been identified as homeless and the shooting appears to be targeted and at least one person has died, according to CBC

An emergency alert was sent out Monday morning at approximately 6:15am (PDT) describing the suspect as Caucasian male with dark hair wearing wearing brown carhart coveralls and a blue and green camo tshirt with a red logo on the side and was associated with a white car.

At at 7:20 a.m. PT, another emergency notice was sent out warning people to avoid the downtown area.

Additionally, police have warned people to stay away from 204 Street, the Langley bus loop at Logan Avenue and Glover Road, Cascades Casino on Fraser Highway, and 200 Street and the Langley Bypass.

“BREAKING: Due to the recent police incident, please avoid Langley City’s downtown core, in the area of 200 Street & the Langley Bypass in Langley Township. The public is asked to stay out of the area until further notice.” Langley RCMP wrote on twitter
