Man Killed In Fatal Stabbing Near A Coquitlam School

A man is reported dead after being fatally stabbed near a Coquitlam school early this morning (May 8)

In a news release by Coquitlam RCMP, it states at 12:40 a.m. police were called to the intersection of Westwood Street and Glen Drive

“When officers arrived at the scene, they located one adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. Despite all efforts to revive the victim, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene,” the statement reads

Police say one person was arrested and in custody but the investigation is on going.

“Although one person has been arrested, police continue to treat this investigation as active and ongoing to determine the circumstances,” states Corporal Paige Kuz, Coquitlam RCMP Media Relations Officer.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and they are now conducting the investigation in partnership with the Coquitlam RCMP.
