Kelowna RCMP investigates stabbing that has left one man deceased

Police said a stabbing in Kelowna left one man dead.

On April 25, 2022 the Kelowna RCMP received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting an injured man at an intersection, at 8:45 p.m police were dispatch in response to the reports.

When police arrived on the scene at the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Gordon Drive, they located a 38-year-old man suffering with appeared to be stab wounds and was quickly transported to hospital.

Police say they arrested a 22-year-old man at the scene and is currently in police custody as the investigation unfolds.

A 28-year-old male that was just passing by also sustained a minor injury during the incident and was transported to hospital where he was treated then released.

The Kelowna RCMP released a statement the investigation is being led by the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit. According to investigators they learned there was a verbal altercation between the individuals involved before the stabbing.

The victims and suspect are unknown to each other said states Cpl. Tammy Lobb, Media Relations Officer for the Kelowna RCMP, adding they are asking anyone in the public that may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage to contact the Kelowna RCMP.
