Kamloops RCMP investigating a slash and stab knife attack

A man with stab and slash wounds was taken to hospital Friday night, after a police officer was waved down on Victoria Street.

On June 3, 2022 around 2:35 a.m., a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer was patrolling the area of
Victoria Street and 4th Avenue when he was alerted to a man who had been assaulted with a weapon. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

While officers were responding, a man nearby was confrontational with police and interfering with the investigation, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. He was arrested for obstruction and lodged in cells to sober up safely.

A male suspect and a woman allegedly left the area in a dark sedan.

Police would like to speak with anyone who has information on the man, woman, or the dark sedan. Anyone who witnessed or has information regarding this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2022-18634.
