Victoria’s Remembrance Day ceremony features man arrested for causing a disturbance and assaulting police

Victoria’s Remembrance Day ceremony was disrupted by a man shouting obscenities before being escorted away by police. Off camera the man began to fight with officers before being arrested, according to VicPD.

On November 11 a man emerged from the crows while people were gathered at Remembrance Day ceremony to honor

“If you can show up for this, you can show up and shut down your government to end the war in Ukraine” the man was heard yelling. He went on demanding Canada pull out of NATO and mention something about Israel and Saudi Arabia and asked people to stand up for Africa.

“You show up every year for this bull shit but you don’t stop the wars” he screams before officers show up to escort him away.

According to a VicPD news release the man began to fight with police officers, he was then arrested and transported to VicPD cells. Police are recommending charges for assaulting a police officer and mischief.

Mayor Marianne Alto responded by saying “I think it’s important for us to recognize that everyone has the right to protest. I do think that there are places that protests are perhaps more appropriate. I don’t think today was that day.”
