It’s been reported today Quebec will no longer tax the unvaccinated with a extra “healthcare” tax
Quebec Premier François Legault is abandoning his government’s government’s unconstitutional and anti Canada universal Healthcare plan to tax Quebecers who have chosen not to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
On Tuesday Legault made the announcement at a press conference and it included the relaxing of other unscientific restrictions. Including the re-opening of essential services such as gyms.
Truckers for Freedom had a massive amount of french Canadian supports rush over to Ottawa from Quebec because it’s right next to the provincial border.
There’s no sign dropping of the unconstitutional unvax tax is from the support of the freedom rally but it’s worth taking note.
Back on January 12, 2022 legault announced the proposed unvaccinated tax which sparked controversy. Quebec was set to be the second jurisdiction in the Western world to impose financial penalties on unvaccinated people 14 years old and older
Apparently close sources reported the tax would have been between $100 to $500.
The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms said it was going to take legal action against the proposed tax, with president John Carpay saying the tax was “an egregious violation of the Charter rights of Quebecers and an affront to equality which Canada was, in times past, known for”
Opposition to the unalvax plan was voiced by Quebec’s Conservative Party whose leader Eric Duhaime called Legault’s plan divisive.
Duhaime sent out a tweet today commenting on the news to drop the unconstitutional tax. “The CAQ’s amateurism at its best. I hate to say ‘I told you so’, but I told you so…”
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) also welcomed the news that Legault was backing off on the health tax.
“This is good news but all Canadians need to continue uniting against the vax tax to make sure it doesn’t pop up in other provinces,” said CTF federal director Franco Terrazzano. “Today some politicians will want the unvaccinated to pay more, but who will they go after next? This new tax would open up the floodgates to a raft of new taxes and that’s why all Canadians need to keep up the pressure and push back against the vax tax.”
Even though the unvaccinated tax will be drop and loosening of some restrictions the unvaccinated will still be facing segregation with some of the toughest restrictions in the world by its authoritarian Provincial Government.
Last week the authoritarian Government banned unvaccinated people from essential services such as Walmart and Costco, despite these stores selling groceries.
The unvaccinated are also banned from essential services government-run liquor and cannabis stores.
These insane and unscientific restrictions may have played a role in the large crow of Quebec french Canadians at the Truckers for Freedom rally over the weekend.
With the dropping of the unlawful and unconstitutional plan this could be a sign the tide is turning and common sense may be returning.
