Coquihalla BC Highway #5 closed due to active police incident

Coquihalla BC Highway #5 is currently closed north of Hope BC and south of Merritt BC due to an ongoing police incident. At this time, no public or commercial vehicles are permitted to pass. While this situation is ongoing, the general public should anticipate delays and choose alternate routes for the next several hours.

The Juliet Bridge area, south of Merritt and close to the Coquihalla summit, is receiving a significant influx of policing resources from the surrounding districts. Anyone in the public is urged to stay away from the area and to hold off on sharing any police activities online.
